From the very beginning of my journey with my paper goods business, I knew I needed to make this as locally sourced, ethical, sustainable and earth-friendly as I could, to be able to design beautiful, high quality & well-crafted products that helped others make decisions that put the planet first. I am proud to say that all of my materials and products are sourced and made in the UK and we use 100% recycled paper, card & grey board for our journals.
* SUPPORTING UK BUSINESSES *
One of my main focuses when sourcing materials to make my products with are that they are small, independent businesses based in the UK. This is helping to cut the carbon footprint of my business down as well as choosing to support other British brands.
* ECO FRIENDLY & RECYCLED *
I absolutely love that all of our materials are eco friendly, compostable and biodegradable, as this is hugely important to me that we do not contribute to any more single use plastic waste that is already out there in the world! All of our materials must fit into one of these categories - recycled, sustainably sourced, recyclable, compostable and plastic free - in order to meet my requirements for including them in a product. This means that a lot of my time is dedicated to sourcing high quality, eco friendly materials from businesses that I believe share my values and ethos.

It is so so important, now more than ever, to be responsible for our own footprint, waste and impact on our beautiful planet as individual people and as a business, and this is something that I am always trying to improve year on year here at The Sunshine Bindery. It is my mission as a business to be able to provide beautifully hand-crafted, joy-full products that are gorgeous, built to last, and caring for people and planet.
